Overview
Scleronephthya is a non-photosynthetic soft coral; its vivid pink and orange come from pigment, not light. It requires very frequent supply of live and fine planktonic foods, and it wastes away and melts if feeding lapses. It needs no light and prefers strong flow. Long-term care is difficult, making it an advanced species for dedicated NPS systems.
