Overview
Distichopora (lace coral) is a non-photosynthetic hydrozoan whose vivid purple, yellow or pink branches are the appeal. Lacking zooxanthellae it does not grow by light and needs frequent supply of fine planktonic foods. Place it in shade or under overhangs with moderate-to-strong flow. It declines if underfed, making it an advanced species requiring a dedicated NPS setup.
