Overview

'Pikachu Tenuis' is an aquacultured lineage traded as Acropora tenuis, usually sold with the JF prefix and named after the character for its vivid solid yellow. It is popular as the representative yellow Acropora, hardy and fairly fast-growing. Keep it under strong light and strong flow with stable KH, Ca and Mg; weak light shifts the yellow toward green and rising nutrients brown it. Price varies with aquacultured generation and encrustation. As a trade name, we treat it here as a lineage.

How to identify

Jolt shows yellow tips over a blue-green body, whereas Pikachu is yellow from body to polyps. Pink Lemonade differs in having pink branch tips over its yellow body.
