Overview

'Malaysian Gold Torch' is a trade name for torches whose tentacles are saturated in deep gold, ranking alongside 24K Gold near the top of the gold torch group. Although it carries a place name, today it functions as a trade name for a color tone and is traded by name, so the label does not guarantee actual origin. Care follows Euphyllia in general: moderate light, gentle flow, and spacing for its long sweeper tentacles. It is prone to brown jelly disease, so avoid wounds and sudden water-quality changes. We treat it here as a trade-name lineage.

How to identify

Unlike Indo Gold and Green Tip, which are gold only at the tips, Malaysian Gold is gold down to the base, as with other premium gold labels. How it is separated from 24K Gold depends on the seller's naming, and there is no clear visual line between the two.
