Overview

'Green Tip Torch' is a color-form label applied collectively to torches with brown-to-green tentacles and fluorescent green tips; it does not denote a single propagated lineage. It is the most common type arriving on Indonesian shipments, and its affordable price makes it the most widely kept entry-level torch coral. Care follows Euphyllia in general: moderate light, gentle flow, and spacing for its long sweeper tentacles. Freshly imported pieces are prone to brown jelly disease, so avoid damaged specimens and keep water quality stable after introduction. We treat it here as a color-form lineage.

How to identify

It is separated from Indo Gold Torch by tip color: green tips are called Green Tip, gold tips Indo Gold. It is told from Toxic Splatter by whether the green is confined to the tips or speckled along the whole tentacle.

Standard

Select
Specimens with gold, pink or purple coloration on the tentacles or tips; named trade lines usually fall here.

Torch coral pricing is driven by trade name (such as Dragon Soul) and head count rather than grade.

Typical price range

As a rough guide, roughly 5,000 to 15,000 yen per head. Prices vary with head count, condition and seller.

Varies widely by season, specimen and seller. Treat as a rough guide.
