Overview

'Indo Gold Torch' is an origin-based label applied collectively to gold-tinted torches shipped from Indonesia; it does not denote a single propagated lineage. Most specimens have green-to-brown tentacle bases with gold tips, and the label is defined by color form and origin. Readily available and affordably priced, it is the usual entry point into gold torches. Care follows Euphyllia in general: moderate light, gentle flow, and spacing for its sweeper tentacles. Freshly imported pieces are prone to brown jelly disease, so avoid damaged specimens and keep water quality stable after introduction. We treat it here as a color-form and origin lineage.

How to identify

Unlike 24K Gold, which is gold to the base, Indo Gold typically shows green-to-brown bases with gold only at the tips. Against Aussie Gold the difference is the origin label: Indonesian pieces more often have slender, longer tentacles, while Australian ones tend to be thicker and shorter.

Grade tiers

Grade names used in the trade for this genus. Criteria vary by seller.

Standard
Common specimens with green or brown tentacles tipped in white to yellow.
Select
Specimens with gold, pink or purple coloration on the tentacles or tips; named trade lines usually fall here.

Torch coral pricing is driven by trade name (such as Dragon Soul) and head count rather than grade.

Typical price range

As a rough guide, roughly 5,000 to 15,000 yen per head. Prices vary with color quality and seller, and strongly gold specimens are sometimes sold under premium labels instead.

Varies widely by season, specimen and seller. Treat as a rough guide.
