Overview

'Holy Grail Torch' is a trade name for a multicolored torch coral with a gold-based body overlaid with additional colors. As the name suggests, it became a byword for scarce, expensive torches in the overseas hobby community and is traded in Japan under the same name. Coloration still varies widely between individuals, and it cannot be judged from appearance alone. Care follows Euphyllia in general: moderate light, gentle flow, and spacing for its sweeper tentacles. It is susceptible to brown jelly disease, so keep it stable and avoid wounds and sudden water-quality changes. We treat it here as a trade-name lineage.

How to identify

Whereas 24K Gold and Indo Gold torches are essentially gold, Holy Grail is described by additional hues layered over a gold body. Against Dragon Soul, the comparison usually comes down to the base tone: gold-based versus warm red-based.
