Overview
Physogyra is related to the bubble coral (Plerogyra) but bears smaller, pearl-like vesicles. It inflates the vesicles to photosynthesize by day and extends sweeper tentacles at night. It prefers moderate light and gentle-to-moderate flow; strong flow damages the vesicles. Its long sweepers sting neighbors, so keep distance. It is hardy and suits beginner-to-intermediate keepers.
