Overview
'Rainbow Yuma' is not a propagated lineage but a grade-like color label for specimens whose beaded tentacles, mouth and rim each show a different color for a three-or-more-color look. How many colors qualify varies by seller, and some shops call a vivid two-color piece rainbow. The common four-tier scale (standard / select / ultra / master) is described on the genus page. Keep it like yuma generally under low-to-moderate light and gentle flow, avoiding sudden shifts in water quality and salinity. Color expression changes with light, so acclimate gradually when moving it. We register it here as a color-label lineage.
How to identify
Ultra Yuma is an overall grade covering vividness and contrast, whereas Rainbow focuses on color count. A single-color but intensely vivid piece may be called ultra, while a multi-colored but pale piece is rarely called rainbow.
Grade tiers
Grade names used in the trade for this genus. Criteria vary by seller.
- Standard
- Single- or two-color specimens based on green or brown with moderate coloration.
- Ultra
- Highly colored specimens in orange, pink or rainbow, traded as "Ultra Yuma".
Grades are assigned at the seller's discretion based on color intensity and count. Yuma coloration fades easily with tank conditions, so check whether photos were taken right after import.
Typical price range
