'Jedi Mind Trick' is an aquacultured plating Montipora lineage with green polyps on a purple body and a growth rim that glows blue-green. Known by its film-inspired name and the abbreviation 'JMT', it is an established collector lineage among plating Montipora. Keep it under moderate-to-strong light and flow with stable KH, Ca and Mg; weak light sinks the purple to brown, and excessive light can dull the glowing rim. It grows fairly fast for a plating Montipora, and encrusted frags are hardy. As a trade name, we treat it here as a lineage.
How to identify
Superman has red polyps on blue and Rainbow Montipora has a multicolor body, whereas Jedi Mind Trick has green polyps on purple with only the rim glowing blue-green. Sunset Montipora pairs red polyps with an orange body, so body and polyp color separate them.
