Overview

Clavularia is an octocoral soft coral with clusters of polyps bearing eight feathery tentacles. Hardy with wide tolerance of light and flow, and popular in fluorescent green and metallic morphs. It spreads as an encrusting mat, so watch for encroachment on neighbors. It is related to but distinct from star polyps (Pachyclavularia).
