Overview
'Ultra Trachy' is not a propagated lineage but a sales-grade label. It is generally applied to specimens showing three or more colors, such as red, green, blue and orange, in the tissue, and sold a step above single- or two-color standard pieces. Criteria vary by seller, and some shops call a piece ultra for extreme color intensity even with fewer colors. Keep it under low-to-moderate light and gentle flow on the sand bed, with night feeding to hold inflation and color. We register it here as a color-label lineage.
How to identify
The line from Master Trachy is color count and pattern boldness: three colors is usually ultra, four or more with crisp patterning is master. The same piece may be graded differently by different shops, so counting the colors yourself is the reliable check.

- Standard
- Solid green or brown to two-color specimens with weak coloration on the frilled edge and little contrast between center and rim.
- Select
- Red or pink coloration on the rim with two to three colors split between center and edge, and clear fluorescence.
- Ultra
- Three or more colors in the center with strong rim coloration and fluorescence, traded as "Ultra Trachy".
- Master
- Top tier with four or more colors in the center approaching a rainbow and intense coloration out to the rim, sold as "Master Trachy".
Grades are assigned at the seller's discretion based on rim coloration, the number of colors in the center and fluorescence strength. Expansion state and lighting change the impression, so also check photos of the coral retracted or under neutral light.
