Overview
'Ultra Rock Flower Anemone' is not a lineage but a sales-grade label. It is generally applied to specimens whose mouth and tentacles are clearly separated in color with two or three or more vivid hues, and sold a step above single-color standard pieces. Criteria vary by seller, and some shops weigh contrast over color count. The common four-tier scale (standard / select / ultra / master) is described on the genus page. Keep it under low-to-moderate light and gentle flow, let it anchor its foot in rock crevices or at the sand-rock boundary, and feed a few times a week to hold color. It moves on its own, so the final spot is up to the animal. We register it here as a color-label lineage.
How to identify
Standard pieces have mouth and tentacles in similar tones with weak contrast, whereas ultra pieces show clearly separated colors, sometimes three or more. From similar-looking Florida Ricordea, it is told by short rod-like rather than beaded tentacles and by burying its foot in the sand.
Grade tiers
Grade names used in the trade for this genus. Criteria vary by seller.
- Standard
- Single- or two-color specimens in green or brown with little contrast between tentacles and oral disc.
- Ultra
- High-color specimens in multiple colors, with the oral disc and tentacles in different shades such as red, pink and orange.
Grades are assigned at the seller's discretion based on color count and the contrast between oral disc and tentacles. Appearance changes greatly with how far the anemone is open.
