Overview
'Aussie Gold Goniopora' is not a lineage but an origin-and-color label for gold-to-yellow Goniopora that arrive on Australian shipments. Australian Goniopora are generally said to have thicker, shorter tentacles and to be hardier, and are popular as easier to keep than the long-tentacle Indonesian type. Criteria vary by seller, and some shops include greenish yellow under the name. Keep it under moderate light and flow just strong enough to sway the polyps, and feed fine planktonic foods regularly for long-term success. We register it here as an origin-label lineage.
How to identify
Rainbow Goniopora shows several colors within each polyp, whereas Aussie Gold is a single gold-to-yellow tone. It is told from yellow Indonesian Goniopora by tentacle length and thickness, with Aussie pieces tending shorter and thicker.
